Welcome to A2J Happy Tails Training, where we are passionate about training dogs and their handlers to work together in perfect in harmony! Our service dog program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, with a thorough evaluation of service and therapy prospects, followed by customized training sessions.

 

We do a 3 month minimum and up to two years, one on one boarded training with your dog. After the 3 month minimum, program your companion will make weekly visits to your home environment then we begin the process  of working with you and your companion in the comfort of your own home.

 

 

Our basic obedience, training we work with dogs as young as 8 weeks old. The obedience training is a 3 week minimum "Full Immerssion" board and train program.

 

 

Why Full Immersion Training and What is It and why it’s our preferred method.

 

At A2J Happy Tails Training and Boarding your dog will be trained in a structured, Full Immersion Training home environment vs a classroom environment, (most will live at home, not in a classroom) with an already well trained dog pack. Being in a home environment with an already trained dog pack helps to shape or or reshape their view of the world around them with companions that speak their language and naturally lead by example. 

 

Puppies require shaping and older dogs  often require behavioral reshaping. Full immersion helps them to gain the understanding where they fall in the hierarchy of life. They get the opportunity to naturally become more relaxed, balanced, well-behaved and better equipped to deal with stressful situations that may arise.

 

Our full immersion training program is a board and train program, typically a consecutive three week minimum. This is an ideal program for getting puppies established on a course of healthy and acceptable behaviors. It helps dogs that show signs of anxiety, dog/human aggression, fears, phobias and many other unwanted behavioral issues.

 

A home atmosphere (because most will not live in a classroom) full immersion training program works well because the dogs learn from other well trained, obedient, and balanced dogs that fluently speak their language. This is why puppies thrive in this program. They learn structured behavior before ever being exposed to bad behaviors.

 

In a nutshell, successful canine training is built on a bedrock foundation of patience, love and consistency. These very important, 3 key elements play integral role in encouraging your dog to thrive in a structured environment where routines are established and expectations are clear.

Consistency with commands, rewards, praise and boundaries are the cornerstones to instilling a sense of a predictable way of life, setting your

dog up for success by cultivating a conducive atmosphere.

 

With our full immersion training program we feel the importance of including the dog owner(s) to establish a solid foundation in their relationship with their canine companion. The relationship between canine and human set the stage for continued success for both. You will learn to use the building blocks of the training program that lend well to fostering a deep meaningful relationship with your canine companion.

 

We adhere to a consistent feeding schedule, exercise, socialization, public access manners, and structured home atmosphere training sessions on a daily basis. This creates an environment of predictability and obedience in many situations and scenarios allowing focus and the ability for the dog to grasp new concepts.

 

Consistency, patience, and love reinforces a positive and personal learning process. We implement practice, practice and more practice throughout the experience of daily living in a home atmosphere. The real home life experience allows the dog the understanding of a structured, social, home environment, making the transition from training to the forever home a smoother transition for both you and the dog.

A2J Training Style is a  TDT “Tailored Dog Training” program that we have been developing over a 3 year period. What is TDT?

Our TDT style (Tailored Dog Training) not only trains your dogs specific needs, but tailors the dog to any needs you may have. Not all dogs have to be service dogs to be tailored to your needs. 

Our program allows us to adapt to your dogs specific learning style.

Just like humans, dogs have unique learning styles. Personalized training considers your dog's learning style, ensuring they receive instruction in a way that resonates with them and often we use other dogs in an immersive fashion. Dogs speak “dog” and it’s very helpful for the dogs to understand what we are asking of them. 

We are passionate about tailoring training to your dog's unique needs. As an experienced trainer, we take the time to get to know your dog, by assessing their behavior, temperament, and any challenges they may be needing to overcome. We then create a customized training and behavior modification plan based on the assessment that not only addresses their specific issues but taps into their strengths as well.

behavior modification plans and methods will encompass a wide range of techniques. Whether your dog needs help with obedience, socialization, or behavior modification, we will embark on that journey with yoy K9.

Dogs who receive (TDT) training tailored to their needs, we have learned they tend to be more confident, well-adjusted, and happier companions. The K9’s are better equipped to navigate real-life situations, and with our continued transition training plan it helps you to understand how to work with them and it allows them a stronger bond with their owners. Our transition, plan when followed at home strengthens the result.
